HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - The bad economy is forcing some Hobbs city employees to take it on the chin.
The City Manager tells NewsWest 9, their revenue is down 30 percent.
So far, they've been forced to eliminate several part-time positions and shelve a few projects.
City officials are also moving employees around departments to prevent filling open positions.
While hiring may be at a stand-still, the City Manager says they're still in a good position.
They hope by making these adjustments, Hobbs won't have to make any other big cuts.
