HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico Junior College is raising its tuition starting with the summer semester. The board of the junior college in Hobbs unanimously approved the tuition hike Wednesday.
Students from New Mexico will see an increase of $1 per credit hour, while out-of-state students will see their tuition rise by $4 per credit hour. New Mexico Junior College president Steve McCleery says the increases were mandated by the state.
Students from New Mexico are divided into in-district and out-of-district students for purposes of tuition costs.
Tuition currently is $32 per credit hour for in-district students, $51 per credit hour for out-of-district students and $56 per credit hour for out-of-state students.
When it comes to a 911 call for emergency responders, every second counts. Right now, the City of Midland Fire and EMS average response time is about six minutes and 30 seconds. The target average response time is usually under five minutes and 35 seconds.
