LEA COUNTY, N.M. - Several grassfires flared up in Lea County on Wednesday morning.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, crews are mopping up three grassfires that started around 9 a.m.
The largest fire they're working on is near New Mexico Highway 457 and Priscilla Road.
The other two sparked up near Highway 483 and near U.S. 62.
Despite the winds, fire crews were able to get a handle on the flames.
