A Stanton man becomes a nuisance for police after he is found drunk and belligerent in Midland.

32-year-old Cody Dean Davis was arrested on his fourth driving while intoxicated charge.

Midland Police responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Terrell Street early Wednesday morning.

Officers on the scene say Davis smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred.

When asked to do a field sobriety test, Davis first accepted then denied it.

That's when he became violent.

He was taken Midland Memorial Hospital for a mandatory blood draw.

There he continued to be violent.

Officers instead decided to have the blood drawn at the detention center.

But as they tried to put him back in the unit, Davis allegedly began resisting and even spit on an officer's face.

Officers were forced to place a spit mask on Davis.

Once they arrived to the detention center, police were force to carry Davis into the building.

While awaiting the blood draw, Davis began threatening officers.

He was eventually transported back to the hospital for a DNA test because he had spit on the officer.

At this time, Davis remains in custody on three-third degree felony charges of retaliation, harassment of a public servant and driving while intoxicated.

His bond has been set at $45,000.

If convicted, Davis could face up to 10 years in prison for each of the three separate counts.
