ODESSA - It was a reading showdown on Friday in Odessa.
Elementary students came together on Friday to compete against each other all in the hopes of calling themselves the Bluebonnet Champions.
The Battle of the Bluebonnets is a project to get kids excited about reading.
20 books were pre-selected and students were required to read at least five of them.
On Friday, they put their knowledge to the test and competed in a game show type atmosphere.
LBJ Elementary came out on top.
