MIDLAND - Last week, NewsWest 9 brought you the story of a woman that wrote a jailhouse letter describing a young girl that she saw in an Odessa home that matched Hailey Dunn's description. As you can imagine that stirred up a lot of emotions for everyone who has hopes of bringing Hailey back home, especially for her mother Billie Dunn.

"I've been very angry about it, angry that she lied about Hailey and got away with it, angry that she is getting all of this attention," Dunn said.

Anger is how Billie Dunn, the mother of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn, feels about Sonja Callahan. She is the woman who claimed to have seen a young girl at an Odessa home who matched the description of Hailey Dunn. She says when she first heard about the letter she was thrilled to know that her daughter could possibly be alive.

"I was thrilled that this lady said that she saw my daughter alive. I am gonna go get my daughter, it made it that much more real, I am gonna get her home," Dunn said.

However, her happiness didn't last long.

"To find out that she lied about the letter, it made me mad and she made the whole story up, it makes me mad that she was able to lie and get away with it and lie and get all of this attention," Dunn said.

Dunn fears that more copycats will start coming out and lie bout Hailey's whereabouts.

"There's already a man I believe in Taylor County saying that he is having dreams and visions and Hailey is coming to him and talking to him. I hope nobody gives him the time of day but there's going to be more, I can just tell," Dunn said.

Dunn says the attention letter written by Callahan was a setback but that this has motivated her even more to keep searching for her missing daughter.

"I am just gonna keep on powering right through it. I'll never stop, I'll never stop and I will find Hailey and I will bring her home. I'm not gonna stop until that happens and I'm not gonna let it stop me now. I'm not gonna stop hanging flyers, trying to get her face on the news. I'm not gonna let any of this stop me. It's just gonna motivate me more," Dunn said.
